Preparing a successful application for skilled visa sponsorship

The following shows the steps and information required to apply for Victorian Government sponsorship for the Skilled – Sponsored (176 and 886) visas.

  • In order to complete the application form for visa sponsorship, a range of information and documentation is required. See the documentation checklist.
  • You should only begin an online application form when you are ready with all the information you need, as you will only have 30 days to complete the application.

Step 4 – Apply for visa sponsorship

  • You can apply online for the Skilled – Sponsored (176 and 886) visas from Apply for Visa Sponsorship. Make sure you include all relevant documentation with your online application.
  • Once you have submitted your application, you will be sent an email within two business days confirming that it has been received. The standard processing time is up to eight weeks.
  • You may only submit one application form for the Skilled – Sponsored (176 and 886) visas in a six month period.
