Victoria welcomes business with China

Victorian Treasurer Kim Wells has declared Victoria open for business with China, saying the government is committed to providing ease and transparency for Chinese wanting to do business in Victoria. 

China accounts for about 14 per cent of Victoria’s exports and about 20 per cent of its imports.

“We understand that by doing business in Asia that relationships are a very important part of doing business,” Mr Wells said in Shanghai yesterday.

“We want to make sure that when people from China are investing in Victoria that they can do it with great ease, great confidence and great transparency. We want to be able to assist Chinese businesses doing business in Victoria,” he said.
