LiveInVictoria updates

We recently surveyed audiences of the Live In Victoria website to find out how we could improve our communication.

Our research obtained feedback from more than 800 migrants and 88 migration agents as well as representatives from the biotechnology, ICT and engineering industries. Based on this research we have updated the look and content structure of the website to improve communication with our audiences.

New content

We redeveloped over 400 pages of LIV content to improve the way visitors find and comprehend information. These changes include:

  • more detailed information / reorganisation of information about employment in Victoria
  • clearer information on changes in policy for migrants and migration agents
  • more comprehensive and relevant information about life in Victoria and
  • improved use of specific keywords in content that LIV audiences use to find information on search engines.

New look

We changed the visual design and engagement tools to make it easier to locate information.

These changes include:

  • re-design of the homepage and inside content pages to prioritise key visual content that audiences can relate to (as in videos and case studies) and can be attracted to (as in more destination imagery)
  • scrolling imagery and accompanying promotional panels
  • re-design of more key information to prominent positions within pages i.e. key action tools/links and most popular content areas as evidenced by web statistical analysis
  • information architecture (subject categorisation) menu rollover, expansion of categories and highlighting of 'on page' position, and
  • prioritising key news items.

We hope these changes make accessing information about living and working in Victoria easier and thank you for your feedback and assistance in improving our website.

We are currently asking visitors to the site to complete a short survey to help us further improve the site.
