Cardinia

The Shire of Cardinia is located on Melbourne's southeastern fringe, at the interface of metropolitan Melbourne and the rural areas beyond. It is home to 30 small rural towns and several rapidly growing urban areas. This region experienced significant population growth between 1996 and 2001 as a result of a number of new subdivisions in Pakenham, Officer and Beaconsfield.
