Check eligibility

Check eligibility

To find out if you are eligible, read the Department of Immigration and Border Protection’s (DIBP) visa criteria for the Investor Retirement visa (subclass 405)

To be eligible for visa sponsorship by the state of Victoria, you will need to:

  • meet the DIBP eligibility requirements for this visa; and
  • make a designated investment with the Treasury Corporation of Victoria; and
  • have a genuine commitment to establish a residence in Victoria.

You should also read the state sponsorship conditions and assessment criteria on this page.

Once you are the holder of an Investor Retirement visa (subclass 405) you can apply for it to be renewed after four years. You must fulfil all of the requirements of the visa in the first four years and receive state sponsorship approval again in order to extend your stay in Victoria.

Next steps

Once you are confident you can meet the relevant requirements, you can apply for Victorian visa sponsorship.
