Role of the Australian Government
Immigration in Australia is overseen by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). They are responsible for all immigration matters including all visa processing and visa grants. For more detailed information about DIAC, visas and immigration visit the DIAC website.
There are a range of visa options for skilled and business migrants who want to live in Australia, including applying as an independent migrant, being sponsored by a family member or an employer, or sponsored by a State or Territory Government.
Role of the Victorian Government
The Victorian Government is able to provide visa sponsorship for skilled and business migrants in support of your visa application to DIAC. For more information, see State Sponsorship.
