Compare Business Visas

The following are business migration visas, sponsored by the Victorian Government, for people who want to live in Victoria and operate a business.

You should apply to the Victorian Government for sponsorship before applying to DIAC.

Independent Visas

Provisional Visas Permanent Residence Visas
These visas provide four years of temporary residence to establish and participate in business activities in Victoria.
 
 
To qualify for permanent residence, business migrants must engage in viable commercial enterprise in Victoria, and provide evidence of having established an eligible business or investment activity or steps taken to do so.
 

State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (163) visa
For successful business owners and senior managers aged 54 and under who intend to establish and operate an eligible business in Victoria.

 

Business Owner (892) visa
For holders of eligible provisional visas including a Business (Long Stay) Independent Executive visa or SIR visa. Applicants must have successfully established an eligible, viable, sustainable business in Victoria.

 

State/Territory Sponsored Senior Executive (164) visa
For people aged 54 and under who have worked in the top three levels of management in a major business (with a turnover of at least A$10 million) who intend to establish and operate a business in Victoria.

 

Investor (893) visa
For those who hold a qualifying Investor (provisional) visa as the main applicant, and meet the State Government requirements for sponsorship.

State/Territory Sponsored Investor (165) visa
For people who have a successful business/investment record, who are aged 54 and under and make an investment of A$750,000 (or A$500,000 for regional locations) with the Treasury Corporation of Victoria for a four-year period and are prepared to engage in ongoing, non-passive investment/business activity in Victoria.
Business Talent (132) visa
For high calibre business people generally aged 54 years and under who can demonstrate outstanding commercial achievements and are proposing to establish a significant business which will be of exceptional economic benefit to Victoria.
 

Investor Retirement (405) visa
This non-business four year renewable visa is for people aged 55 years or more who want to spend part of or all of their retirement in Victoria, who make an investment with Treasury Corporation of Victoria of A$750,000 to live in metropolitan Melbourne and A$500,000 to live in regional Victoria.

 

Regional Established Business (846) visa
For business people who hold an appropriate visa and have established a viable, sustainable business in Victoria.
