Nomination & Sponsorship

The Victorian Government can provide State nomination for General Skilled Migration visas and State sponsorship for Business Skills visas. Nomination and sponsorship are essentially the same service and both can assist you in meeting the requirements for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship’s (DIAC) visas.

State nomination/sponsorship is a free service, however you will need to pay a visa application charge fee to submit your visa application to DIAC.

Qualifying for Victorian Government visa nomination/sponsorship is simple. For the visa you have chosen to apply for you must:

  • meet DIAC’s basic requirements
  • meet Victorian Government requirements for state nomination/sponsorship.

For more information about the role of DIAC, see Explore Visas. To view the visas available for Victorian Government nomination/sponsorship, see Visa Options.
