According to the Australian Government's Job Search website, psychologists earn approximately are A$1190 gross per week. 

The salary and benefi ts of clinical psychologists working in Victorian public hospitals, mental health and community health services are generally governed by the award agreement negotiated with the Health Services Union Victoria.

Employers

Clinical psychologists are employed by hospitals, community welfare organisations, industry and private practice and include the following specialist areas: clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, counselling psychology and health psychology. Many may work as non practitioners: providing market research and business consulting advice or working in human resources, training and administration.

  • The Australian Psychological Society is the major professional association for psychologists. It provides resources for its members including professional development programs and networking events.

Tip

We strongly advise you not to apply for jobs until your visa to live and work in Australia has been issued. The visa application process can take many months, and employers are unlikely to choose you for a job if you do not know when you will arrive in Australia.
