Overview

Victoria is the hub of Australia's automotive industry - it is responsible for around 60 percent of the country's automotive turnover, and a significant proportion of exports.

Industry size

Victoria's automotive manufacturing sector employs around 85,000 people, and has an annual turnover of around $14 billion. The automotive repair, service and retail sector employs a further 57,000 people, and has an estimated turnover of around $24 billion.
