Overview
Victoria’s hospitality industry is the second largest in Australia. Around 22 percent of Australian hospitality industry workers are employed in Victoria’s:
- cafes and restaurants
- catering and food service businesses
- bars and pubs
- clubs
- hotels, motels and serviced apartments.

Industry size
Around 115,000 people are employed in Victoria’s hospitality industry, which earned revenue of around $10,418 million in 2007.
Occupations
Victoria is currently offering visa sponsorship to applicants with the following hospitality industry qualifications:
- Baker
- Must have a minimum of four years experience as a baker
- Pastry Cook
- Must have a minimum of four years experience as a pastry cook.
